The TOEIC® L&R is an English test designed to assess the written and oral comprehension skills of a non-English speaker in a business setting.
The test lasts 120 minutes and is divided into two sections:
- The “Listening” section: comprehension which lasts 45 minutes.
- The “Reading” section: written comprehension which lasts 75 minutes.
Each section consists of 100 questions divided into parts.
The “Listening” section: oral comprehension
An English recording containing the statement and answers allows you to answer the questions. You must follow the rhythm of the audiotape.
This section is divided into 4 parts:
- Questions about image descriptions
- Listening to questions and answers (short conversations)
- Listening to dialogues (long conversations)
- Listening to short presentations
The “Reading” section: written comprehension
The "Reading" section is the final part of the exam. It lasts 1 hour 15 minutes and is divided into three parts:
- Sentences to complete
- Texts to be completed
- Reading multiple written contents
It's important to stay focused for this final section. We recommend taking full practice tests to get used to the intensity of the exam.
