What is the LanguageCert SELT A1 ?

LanguageCert is an internationally recognized language certification for the quality of its assessment. All LanguageCert certifications are aligned with the levels of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR).

The LanguageCert SELT A1, one of the tests offered by LanguageCert, provides certification required for certain long-term visa applications to the United Kingdom. Recognized by the British government and the United Kingdom Visa and Immigration Service (UKVI), the test is primarily aimed at two profiles:

  • people wishing to join a family member already living in the UK (spouse, partner or parent) as part of family reunification;
  • professionals who need to demonstrate a level of English to work in the United Kingdom, particularly as part of a visa for a representative of a company abroad or a visa for high-level athletes.

Level A1 corresponds to an elementary level according to the CEFR. The LanguageCert SELT A1 test therefore certifies your ability to understand and communicate simply in everyday situations.

LanguageCert certificates (including SELT A1) are valid for life. However, some organizations, such as immigration authorities, certain employers or educational institutions, may request a recent certificate.
