What is the difference between TOEIC L&R and the adaptive TOEIC L&R?

Duration and type of questions :

First, the adaptive version of the test lasts 1 hour, while the classic version lasts 2 hours. However, the score and difficulty levels are the same regardless of which version you choose to take.

Secondly, The types of questions are also exactly the same.

How the adaptive TOEIC works:

For the adaptive TOEIC, each candidate first takes the first section of the Listening section. This unit is common to all candidates and therefore includes the same questions for everyone. Depending on the score obtained in this unit, the candidate is offered a second unit:

  • Either the easy module

Let the difficult module
This second unit therefore has a difficulty adapted to the candidate, depending on the score obtained in unit 1. The same applies to the Reading section of the test.
