What is IELTS Academic?
IELTS ACADEMIC is a test used to assess the English language skills of candidates wishing to study in Great Britain, Ireland, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, or Scandinavia.
It is one of the most widely administered English language tests in the world. It is recognized in 140 countries in the education, employment, and immigration sectors, with nearly 2 million candidates taking it each year.
IELTS Preparation
There are two versions of the IELTS
- IELTS Academic, for students wanting to study abroad
- IELTS General Training, for workers, visa applicants, etc.
The IELTS Academic is the most popular version. 8 out of 10 candidates take the Academic version in France.
IELTS Scores
The IELTS test, like the TOEFL, consists of four parts (speaking, writing, listening and reading) and is scored on a scale of 0 to 9. ( Learn more about IELTS scoring ).
Each grade corresponds to a specific level of English. Foreign universities will require a minimum score of 6.0 (which can also be set at 7.5 for the most demanding programs).
