What does the TOEIC contain?
The TOEIC L&R is an English test designed to assess the written and oral comprehension skills of a non-English speaker in a business setting. ( What is the TOEIC? ).
The test lasts 120 minutes and is divided into two sections:
- There "Listening" section : Oral comprehension which lasts 45 minutes
- The "Reading" section : Written comprehension which lasts 75 minutes
Each section consists of 100 questions divided into parts.
Within the preparation for the TOEIC PrepMyFuture , you can take the practice exams part by part.
The Listening section: Oral comprehension
An English recording containing the statement and answers allows you to answer the questions. You must follow the rhythm of the audiotape.
This section is divided into 4 parts:
- Questions about image descriptions
- Listening to questions and answers (short conversations)
- Listening to dialogues (long conversations)
- Listening to short presentations
When you take the TOEIC practice tests on PrepMyFuture, the mode "Practice" allows you to have the audio track question by question. The script of the statement and answers is also displayed.
For a beginner, listening and reading the text will help you get used to it and progress.
The Reading section: Written comprehension
The "Reading" section is the final part of the exam. It lasts 1 hour 15 minutes and is divided into three parts:
- Sentences to complete
- Texts to be completed
- Reading multiple written contents
It's important to stay focused for this final section. We recommend taking full practice tests to get used to the intensity of the exam.
