What is the DELF level for which objective?
The DELF ( What is the DELF? ) is a test that assesses the level of French for candidates whose mother tongue is not French. Having this diploma allows you to attest to a certain level of mastery of French, which can be necessary both when looking for a job in a French-speaking country and for entering a French university. Another important point: The diploma is valid for life , unlike many certifications which are often only valid for a few years.
For higher education
You must have a French proficiency certificate to enter a school in France from a certain level. The DELF B2, DALF C1 or DALF C2 allow you to apply for entry to all French higher education establishments. (universities, preparatory classes, etc.). All DELF exams are accepted (DELF for the general public, DELF Pro, DELF junior, etc.).
However, a DELF B2 or C1 is strongly recommended to properly pursue studies in France and to be able to carry out all the steps of daily life.
If you are targeting a specific institution, we advise you to inquire directly with them about their requirements.
For immigration or job search
The DELF test demonstrates your proficiency in French, which can be invaluable when landing a job. The DELF Pro certifies your ability to thrive in a professional environment. Having a DELF Pro level B2 or higher is a real bonus for your resume if you're looking for an internship in a country where French is an official language.
The DELF exam can also facilitate your immigration application. Some countries, such as Canada, require certification in French. Having a DELF B2 diploma or higher earns you points that, according to a scale set by Canadian immigration services, can determine whether your immigration application is accepted or rejected.
