Retake the DELF
Retake the DELF
You can retake the DELF ( What is the DELF? ) for two different reasons:
- or you failed the first time and you plan to try again
- or you succeeded but you are not satisfied with the score obtained
Retake the DELF to validate it
There is no limit to the number of times you can take the DELF exam until you pass. However, we advise against taking the same level multiple times. If you fail, it means you don't yet have the required language level. It's better to aim for the lower level, where you'll be more likely to succeed rather than fail at the higher level.
This is the main difference between the DELF/DALF and score-based exams (TOEIC or TOEFL for example): having a good grade is less important than passing the level that really suits you. For example, it is better to have a DELF B1 obtained with 50/100 rather than a DELF A2 with a grade of 70/100. It is therefore a question of know exactly which level to register for so that you can really do your best . To find out which DELF/DALF level would suit you best, see our article: What DELF level for which candidate?
Retake the DELF to improve your grade
You can also retake a level you have already passed in order to improve your grade . However, to do this, you must give up the diploma you have obtained in writing. However, if you fail your new attempt, this means that you lose the benefit of the diploma.
That's why we recommend that you primarily take the levels you haven't yet passed, rather than retake a level you already have. Prepmyfuture can provide you with the preparation you need to pass the most demanding DELF levels.
